My dear Father,

Many thanks for your last letters. I think it will be best to insure the pram, if possible at the reduced rate & if you will find out what the premium is & pay it, I will send you a cheque. Many thanks for troubling about it. I fear that another telescope will not be of much use at the moment, as the line is too unsettled to be able to do more than a limited amount of observation work & we have sufficient telescopes for the purpose. I have written a line to Glad to-day, but have little news. We are still in our retired village & consequently there is little to talk about. I hear that George & Mary have both arrived to-day.
